South African Test skipper Hashim Amla has admitted that it would take time to find a winning combination for the future after opening batsman Alviro Petersen announced his retirement from international cricket.

South Africa also saw veteran all-rounder and former skipper Graeme Smith retiring from international cricket within the last 12 months.

Amla, who succeeded Graeme Smith as South Africa's Test captain in March, said that the team would always change with the new faces in it, and to find the winning combination was still their main goal, Sport24 reported.

He further said that ever since he had become captain, the focus had been about finding a winning team for the future and it would take a bit of time, the report added.

The players who had come in had done well, but there would be still some changes here and there, he added.
