Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said that he completely supported Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party Government's demand for full statehood for Delhi.
"I have always said that Delhi should be given full statehood. The public votes for the government with so much hope. Now if the government is not able to function properly, due to a few obstacles, the people will be upset. The public does not understand what issues a state government faces," said Kumar.
"Even the Delhi Police is not under the state government. If the government does not decide who should be given what responsibility, what answer are they going to give to the public? We are with them on this issue," he added.
Nitish met Kejriwal in the capital earlier to discuss the issue of complete statehood for Delhi.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was also present at the meeting.
