Haryana's Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu Singh Sindhu on Wednesday said nobody has the authority to pass diktats in a country which believes in the rule of law.
"In a country which has a law in place, no one has the authority to issue such kinds of diktats," Singh told ANI here while reacting to the diktat issued by the Hindu Mahasabha in the state.
"There are some khaps, which has even protested such diktats," he said.
Singh further said women today are working shoulder to shoulder with men in every sector of society.
"The country which respects women, only that country walks on the path of development," he added.
The Hindu Mahasabha diktat was issued a day after the Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP government took charge in the state. The latest dress code diktat is being seen as challenging the new government's authority.
