The National investigating Agency (NIA), Guwahati branch, have arrested a 30-year-old hard-core militant namely Neyton Nokbi alias Leyton.
Leyton, a resident of Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, was arrested on April 4 for his involvement in the terrorist attack by a group of NSCN cadres for firing and planting IEDs on a convoy vehicles of the Indian Army on April 2, 2015, near old Tupi village of Tirap district in Arunachal Pradesh, which resulted in death of three Army personnel and serious injuries to three others.
Leyton is a self-styled Sergeant of the National Council of Nagalim (Issac Muivah faction).
The accused, who was produced before the Special NIA Court at Yupia on April 4, has been remanded to NIA police custody for seven days for his custodial interrogation.
