Sam Billings, who is set to make his T-20 debut for England in Tuesday's match, believes the ODI series win against New Zealand can really inspire the team to perform well and hopefully win the Ashes.
England, coming from a disastrous 2015 World Cup campaign, went on to win the five-match one-day series against the Black Caps, and would be heading for the Ashes after playing the lone T20 international.
Billings said he was hopeful that the vibe could be taken forward into the Ashes and the one-day series, the BBC reported.
Billings, who was in his maiden one-day series for England said that it has been a phenomenal experience and one that he would remember for the rest of his life.
He insisted that the win has hopefully generated a bit of interest around the country and got people behind the England cricket team going into the Ashes.
