Australian pole vault champion Steve Hooker's wife, Russian 1500m runner Ekaterina Kostetskaya, has been banned from the Commonwealth Games for two years after being charged with using drugs.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Kostetskaya was charged under IAAF Rule 32.2b for "use/attempted use of a prohibited substance/method" at the 2011 world championships in Daegu, where she finished fifth in the 800 m.
She received a two-year ban and isn't eligible to compete again until January 20, 2015.
Hooker met Kostetskaya at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and got married to her after the London Games in 2012. Last year, they had their first child, Maxim.
