Pachauri steps down as UN panel chief following sexual harassment charges

The Energy and Resources Institute director general Rajendra Kumar Pachauri, who has been accused of sexual harassment by a 29-year-old former woman employee, on Tuesday stepped down as chairman of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
The TERI chief had been granted anticipatory bail till February 26 by a local court in Delhi on Monday on medical grounds as well as on merit.
A case under IPC Section 354 has been registered against Pachauri at the Lodhi Colony police station in the national capital.
