Pak says Iran gas pipeline project to be completed by 2014

Work on Pakistan-Iran Gas Pipeline Project will be completed by the end of 2014, Secretary of Petroleum Abid Saeed has said.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said Pakistan will receive seven hundred and fifty million cubic feet gas daily through this pipeline from Iran, and will help overcome the energy crisis.

According to the nation, he later said the gas supply will be increased up to one billion cubic feet daily.

He said the gas pipeline project will also help generate five thousand megawatt electricity, which will reduce load shedding, he report said.

He added that the pipeline will also benefit coastal areas of Gwadar, Pasni and Ormara.
