Yahoo acquires Bignoggins' technology in bid to make apps more compelling for smartphones

Internet corporation Yahoo's latest acquisition of Bignoggins technology is reportedly considered as the company's attempt to make more compelling applications for smartphones and tablet computers.

According to CBS News, Yahoo has acquired the technology by Bignoggins Productions, maker of popular mobile-apps like 'Fantasy Monster' and 'Draft Monster', for its own lineup of fantasy sports and leagues.

Although these apps are no longer distributed but their underlying technology will be used by Yahoo for its new services.

The financial terms for acquiring the company which started three years ago was not disclosed by Yahoo, the report added.
