In the wake of the announcement made by PTI chief Imran Khan vowing to lead the march into Islamabad's red zone after the expiry of his deadline, the Pakistani troops have been asked to maintain a tight vigil to thwart any untoward incident likely to occur during the procession.

According to the Dawn, Corps Lieutenant General Qamar Bajwa and 10 other corps commanders have contacted top officials of the Islamabad Police for coordination to ensure security of the key government installations located along with Constitution Avenue declared as red zone by the Federal Interior Ministry.

Islamabad district administration has ordered the shutting down of all petrol pumps in G-6 and F-6 sectors.

Meanwhile, Syed Khursheed Shah, leader of Opposition in the National Assembly, has called for a meeting of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and allies parties in the parliament house to design a strategy to stop Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) from entering red zone and to come up with a diplomatic solution for ending the political crisis peacefully.
