The business community in Pakistan has expressed its disapproval over Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan's call for civil disobedience.

According to the Dawn, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has asked the business community to distance itself from such a move.

FPCCI president Zakaria Usman said in a statement that the present political situation and PTI's call for civil disobedience are not feasible moves as they amount to provoking people not to pay taxes and utility bills, the report said.

Slamming Imran over his civil disobedience call, Usman said that business community was the real stakeholder in the recent call for civil disobedience, adding that it would not comply with PTI's request for a complete shutdown of businesses, industries and become sick units by becoming defaulters of bank loans.

Zakaria said that business community was the real taxpayer and it was the responsibility of the government to ensure that the money was being used in the right direction for development of the country.

He further said economic and trade activities should not be affected by such activities.
