United States House Speaker Paul Ryan has dubbed the sexual misconduct allegations levelled against Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore as "credible", calling on the latter to step aside from the race.
Ryan said, "He should step aside. Number one, these allegations are credible. Number two, if he cares about the values that he claims to care about, then he should step aside," CNN reported.
Apart from Ryan, number of other Republican has voiced against Moore and have asked him step down. Some even suggested to expel Moore from the Senate should he win the December 12 special election.
This came after few women stepped forward, saying Moore pursued relationships with them when they were teenagers.
However, Moore has flatly denied the allegation levelled against him.
