All India Trinamool Congress leader Dinesh Trivedi on Wednesday said that we need make sure that people at the top level should not go scot-free after supporters of Union Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharti allegedly stopped a train at Jhansi railway station as she was running late.
"Most of the times if happens that people at the base level get punished, the people at the top level go scot-free, we need to make sure that does not happen," Trivedi told ANI.
Trivedi asserted the fact that the VVIP syndrome has to be rooted out.
"If I were the PM of India, I would have sacked my team mate, if somebody would have publically done something which shows of indiscipline and if I were the rail minister I would call up whoever was in charge there and find out why he exceeded to this VIP culture," he added.
He further said that the incident smacks of arrogance and flexing of power.
