Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the people of Brazil on the country's Independence Day while terming the South American nation a 'key global partner for India'.
"On their nation's Independence Day, I convey my greetings to the people of Brazil. We are committed to enhancing our ties with Brazil. Brazil is a key global partner for India and we are determined to harness the vast potential for cooperation between our nations," said PM Modi.
The day marks the celebration of Brazil's declaration of Independence from the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and the Algarves on September 7, 1822. It is a national holiday and comprises of patriotic displays in most Brazilian cities.
