Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday interacted with Officer Trainees of 92nd Foundation Course on the second day of two-day visit to Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration here.

The session started with the presentations made by the Officer Trainees on the subject "Why I joined the Civil Services"; and on themes, including housing, education, malnutrition, solid waste management, skill development, digital transactions, Ek Bharat - Shreshtha Bharat, and New India - 2022.

The trainees also presented their ideas on the Swachh Bharat Mission.

The prime minister, while interacting with the trainees, said: "You must be attentive towards the people and should learn from books to prevent straying from wrong path.

Modi also stressed on the significance of public participation, for successful implementation.

"Main objective of Civil Services is to work for the prosperity and well being of the people so as to bridge the gap between the government machinery and the people," Modi said.

Comparing civil services to the fourth lion of the Ashoka Emblem, the Prime Minister said, "Biggest strength of civil servants is anonymity. Although, they remain invisible but their presence is felt all times."

Earlier in the day, Modi also participated in yoga session held in the lawns of the Academy and unveiled plaques to mark the laying of foundation stone of the new hostel building, and a 200 meter multifunctional synthetic athletic track.
