Union Minister of Steel and Mines, Narendra Singh Tomar said on Saturday that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) workers protest against him was 'meaningless'.
"As far as the protests again me are concerned, they are baseless and meaningless. I would like to tell the chief minister (Hemant Soren) that he is a very responsible chief minister and he should focus more on increasing his popularity, " Tomar said.
While referring to the recent hooting of Hemant Soren in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tomar said,"I was aware that the chief minister is upset over what the crowd did during the Prime Minister's Jharkhand visit. There is no reason for him to be upset."
He added, "During the Prime Minister's gathering, no one in crowd shouted any slogan against the chief minister."
Earlier, JMM workers waved black flags soon after Tomar arrived at the Birsa Munda Airport here, which later spiralled off into clashes with BJP activists.
