Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi will begin his two-day visit to Gujarat from today during which he is expected to hold a meeting of office-bearers of district and block committees of his party.
Gandhi will visit Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi's Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad today.
He will later in the day attend a meeting of the national executive of the National Students Union of India and also interact with the elected members of local self-government institutions.
The Congress Vice-President will also be visiting Rajkot during his visit where he is scheduled to address a meeting of office-bearers of local party units.
Gandhi will also hold discussions with the members of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee.
The Congress Vice-President's visit to Gujarat can be seen as an attempt by him to boost the morale of the party workers ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
