The gardens at Rashtrapati Nilayam, Bolarum, Secunderabad, will open for public viewing from January 6 to January 12, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The gardens of Rashtrapati Nilayam include landscaped gardens, seasonal flowering plants and display of potted plants around the main building, 'Jai Hind Ramp' with cascading water, Gardens of Mango, Sapota, Pomegranate, Guava, Amla, Coconut and Cheeku and a herbal garden.
The herbal garden has 116 species of medicinal and aromatic plants like Sarpgandha, Kalabandha, Citronella, Lemon grass, Khus, Geranium, Coriander, Sandalwood, Tuber rose, Jasmine, Kalmegh, Tulsi, etc, in an area of about 7000 sq. mtrs.
Rain harvesting measures undertaken to improve ground water sustainability can also be seen.
