Aggressively investing in startups, ranging from e-commerce firms to cab aggregators, Tata Sons' chairman emeritus Ratan N. Tata has invested in UrbanClap, India's largest services marketplace.

UrbanClap is a marketplace to hire trusted professionals for local services. Be it a plumber, an electrician, a beautician, a yoga trainer, a math tutor or a wedding photographer, UrbanClap is the single destination to hire from amongst 80+ services.

The company is operational in six cities including NCR, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune and Hyderabad serving thousands of customers each day through our network of 25000+ service professionals.

Tata's personal investment in UrbanClap is a testament to both the size of the market opportunity, and the caliber of the UrbanClap team, which is undeterred in its efforts to build a valuable marketplace that millions of Indians love.

Tata, who served as the chairman of Tata Sons for over two decades until his retirement in 2012, has also joined some venture capital funds as advisor, including Kalaari Capital and Jungle Ventures, in the past year.
