Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Monday conceded that a red alert has been sounded in the state following the gruesome terror attack in Gurdaspur.

Meanwhile, security has been enhanced across Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of the Gurdaspur terror attack, which has so far claimed the lives of 10 people, including six civilians.

Security has also been beefed up at the North and South Block.

The Special Forces team has reached the location of the terror attack, which has been cordoned off.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently holding a high-level meeting in Parliament with Union Ministers Manohar Parrikar, Arun Jaitley and Venkaiah Naidu.
