Former West Indies batsman Sir Viv Richards believes that winning the 2011 World Cup in India was an icing on the cake for legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar.
Heaping praise on Tendulkar, he said that he believed that an individual who had given so much, not just to India cricket but also to world cricket, deserved to have some silverware on his mantelpiece.
In a column written for the ICC, Richards further said that Tendulkar was a magnificent player and winning the World Cup at home was an icing on the cake for him, adding that he was pleased for him as he had something to show for his hard work and commitment when his career finished.
