Liverpool football team manager Brendan Rodgers has said that he believes his youthful squad would come of age next season to deliver another Premier League title challenge.
Rodgers admitted that he always felt the current campaign would be one of painful transition, as his side came to terms with the loss of Luis Suarez and integrated so many new signings of promise, rather than the finished team.
Still their brilliant performance against Chelsea showed that the new boys are finally settling in and beginning to turn into men, and after a run of just one defeat in the last 15 games, Rodgers feels that they are on course to return to heights of last season, the Mirror reported.
The Anfield manager said that the reality was with so many changes they were not going to win the league this season, adding that he believes they would be ready to challenge for the title next year.
Rodgers added that this year was about targeting the top four and the cups, and said that he believes this squad has Premier League winning capabilities. He said that they have young players who can grow together, but claimed that this was the year for players to adapt and settle.
Rodgers said that come the summer the period of integration would be complete and then Liverpool could compete like they did last year for the title.
As Rodgers prepares to welcome Bolton in the FA Cup this weekend, he believes that success in the competition would be an important experience in the development of his side and help them to discover the secret to winning trophies.
