The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the Maharashtra Assembly not to take any coercive steps against Shobha De over her tweet criticizing a state government order on Marathi films.
Earlier, the notice had been issued after a Shiv Sena lawmaker Pratap Sarnik demanded a privilege motion against Shobha De and an apology.
After a petition by author Shobhaa De, a notice of privilege sent to her was put on hold by Supreme Court.
