Union Communication and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday asserted that the NDA Government is committed to the educational empowerment of students from Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
"There are 15 NIFT campuses in the country and the talks were going on for the reservation of OBCs without disturbing the existing seats in these institutes. So it was decided to build additional infrastructure, teaching faculty and hostel facility by 31st March, 2015," Prasad told a press conference here.
"We have extended two more years for building adequate infrastructure. This shows our government's committment to the cause of educational empowerment of our friends from the OBC community," Prasad added.
