Security forces gun down top KPLT commander

An area commander of the banned militant outfit Karbi Peoples's Liberation Tigers (KPLT) has been shot down by security forces in Assam's Karbi Anglong District.

The top ranking militant was slain on Monday after a gun battle between KPLT cadres and joint forces of the army and the Assam Police.

The slain militant has been identified as Seme Kro, who was the KPLT area commander for Assam's Bhelughat area.

According to reports, security forces have also arrested militants from different areas in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur Districts in the last 24 hours.
