Selena Gomez poured her heart out during the We Day California conference, saying that she lost the sight of who she was.
The 21-year-old star said that her mother, who had her at a mere age of 16, worked 4 jobs to make Gomez's life better, and it was at 7 that she decided she wanted to act, ABC News reported.
Gomez revealed that she was crushed when a casting director told her that she wasn't strong enough to carry her own show, but two years later, she got her own show at 13.
The 'Wizards of Waverly Place' actress said that she's surrounded by people who are supposed to guide her, out of which some of them did and some didn't.
The 'Stars Dance' hitmaker added in a breaking voice that she tried to change herself so that others would accept her but realized that she doesn't know how to be anything but herself.
