Chris Martin's father Anthony Martin said that though he is heartbroken about his son's separation from Gwyneth Paltrow, he felt proud that the two are "still great mates".
The 72-year-old retired accountant said that it's sad because they have two children together, but it is all very cordial between them and he is proud of what they have achieved in their lives, the Mirror reported.
When asked if Martin's alleged extra marital affairs played a part in the breakdown of the couple's 11-year marriage, he said that he didn't know anything about that.
The couple had been struggling to save their marriage for several years, but it was only recently that they decided to split.
The couple has possessions worth up to 150 million dollars, which is estimated to go through a divide.
