Commonwealth Games silver medallist pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa stormed into the Canada Open badminton tournament final after claiming straight sets win over Shiho Tanaka and Koharu Yonemoto in their women's doubles event in Calgary.
Jwala and Ashwini, who won the 2011 World Championship bronze, overcame the Japanese duo 21-17, 21-16 in a thrilling semi-final contest that lasted 30 minutes.
The third seeds Indian pair will take on top pair of Eefje Muskens and Selena Piek from Netherlands in the summit clash.
