Taking a dig at the Samajwadi Party's(SP) for observing its 25th anniversary celebration, Union Water Resources Minister and senior BJP leader Uma Bharti said on Saturday, the event should be seen as being more of a farewell for Mulayam Singh Yadav, his party and the incumbent Uttar Pradesh government.
"It's the farewell event of Mulayam Singh and his party, as this family has cheated the minorities and the poor," she said.
"In the state assembly polls, it is certain that the BJP is going to make the next government in UP," she added.
Former prime minister HD Deve Gowda, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, RLD chief Ajit Singh, JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Abhay Chautala, JD(U) leader Tyagi and noted lawyer Ram Jethmalani are attending the event.
