Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh on Monday met German Foreign Office State Secretary Markus Ederer here.
The two sides held lengthy discussions on issues of mutual interest to both countries.
This is the second visit in as many months to India by an official of the German Foreign Office, after German Foreign Minister Dr Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited India in September this year.
India and Germany have a 'strategic partnership' since 2001, which has been further strengthened with two rounds of Intergovernmental Consultations (IGC) in New Delhi in May 2011, as well as in Berlin in April 2013. The two countries have several institutionalized arrangements to discuss bilateral and global issues of interest.
