Bollywood Director, Sujoy Ghosh, whose movie 'Kahaani' left the industry spellbound, is back with another enthralling 14-minutes-short film, 'Ahalya' starring Radhika Apte and veteran Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee.

The movie is set in contemporary time in Kolkata and will reinterpret a legendary episode from the great Indian epics Mahabharata and Ramayana where the fate of an apsara, a maharishi and god of rain - Indra is sealed by a curse. As the past tells about the director's caliber, the story revolves around the female character and creates a strong sense of enigma.

Talking about his film, director, Sujoy said, "The entire experience of making 'Ahalya' was very challenging yet interesting. For me, both Ramayan and Mahabharat are the greatest books ever and the unending wealth of stories in these two books is undisputed. The story of 'Ahalya' always remained with me because in my younger days I found it very funny what happened with Indra. The curse of Goutam Sadhu has always stayed in my mind but in an amusing way."

The movie has been released by Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films, a portal focused on giving budding film makers a platform to showcase their short films with large ideas, and is available on YouTube channel.
