Tablet gets exponential growth, outnumbers last year total sales in Australia

Tablet sales in Australia reportedly outnumbered total sales of last year in the first half of 2013 alone.

Australians purchased 2.3 million tablet computers in the first half of 2013, almost the same number as in the last year, according to data released by research company Telsyte.

The figures suggested that people were shifting their computing habits away from PCs and laptops and towards tablets, the Telegraph reports.

According to the report, the customers were particularly drawn to touch screens and the functionality allowed by hundreds of thousands of apps.
