Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansour has been injured in a shootout between senior members of the outlawed movement, according to Taliban sources.

However, Taliban's main spokesperson has denied the claims, the Dawn reported.

Mansour, whose authority is disputed by rival factions, was wounded when fighting broke out over strategic issues in the house of senior leader called Mullah Abdullah Sarhadi, two senior Taliban members said.

A senior Taliban commander said that some senior leaders of the group had differences and opened fire at each other.
