The second film in the 'Talvar' franchise, 'Talvar 2', has been announced to take the story of Talwar's verdict further.
The first film, starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Neeraj Kabi in the main lead, was based on the story of the 2008 Noida double murder case of a 13-year-old girl Aarushi Talwar, and 45-year-old Hemraj Banjade, a live-in domestic worker, employed by her family in Noida, India.
The two were killed on the night of May 15-16, 2008 at Aarushi's home under suspicious circumstances. The case became a national interest due to the gruesome condition of the murders and dead leads in catching the suspect.
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the first film also starred veteran actor Irrfan Khan in a pivotal role.
The upcoming film will be produced by the Junglee Pictures and Vishal Bhardwaj. Bhardwaj will also direct the second installment.
