The visitors were bowled out for 187 after India made 495 in their first innings.
Spinners stole the show with Ravichandran Ashwin getting four wickets and Pragyan Ojha getting a five-wicket haul.
Dinesh Ramdin top scored for the West Indies with a knock of 53.
Pragyan Ojha was declared the Man of the Match while Rohit Sharma was named the Man of the Series.
West Indies captain Darren Sammy said that he was disappointed and expected to have had a better performance as a team.
Indian captain MS Dhoni said that it was a complete performance and they did well after being under pressure in the first Test.
