Terrence Howard's former wife has recently filed a law suit against the actor in Los Angeles claiming that he assaulted her back in 2013.
Michelle Howard has claimed that the alleged assault took place while the former couple was staying in a rental house in Costa Rica, where the 'Empire' actor punched her face and strangled her for several seconds, reported the Hollywood Reporter.
In the same complaint, Michelle added that the actor also defamed her by making false accusations of death threats and other threats against him and his family through various social media accounts.
Talking about the suit, the 'Iron Man' star said "a lot of the things I did were the product of not knowing how to deal with frustration, not knowing who Terrence Howard is."
He added that he has grown so much from anything that has happened in the past.
