Chelsea football team captain John Terry has said that he is delighted by the way his team had started their campaign to regain the Premier League title, but insisted that there was plenty of work to be done before the trophy is back at Stamford Bridge.

Table-toppers Chelsea are currently five points clear of second-placed Manchester City, the reigning champions, heading into the international break. Chelsea has yet to lose in the Premier League this season, winning six out of seven games with their worst result a 1-1 draw away to City.

With 31 league games remaining, centre-half Terry is not getting carried away. He said that clearly the title race is not over, adding that the other teams have been in this position and it is nice to have the lead, Sport24 reported.

But, Terry said that when one is at the top everyone wants to shoot them down. He said that that is the good thing about the Premier League and why everyone loves it, adding that the teams are out to get them because they are at the top and playing well.

The former England International also said that the international break is here and they need to come back and maintain their form after that as well. He said that it is very important that they do that.

Chelsea are chasing a first Premier League trophy since 2010, the only time they have been crowned champions of England since double title-winner Mourinho's first spell in west London ended in September 2007.

The experienced Terry said that it was essential to Chelsea's hopes they made the most of any stumbles by their title rivals. He said that one is just hoping that when they are at the top and have a five-point cushion and more on certain teams, a couple of them slip up again and that increases.

Terry said that all they can do is keep winning and wait for those teams to slip up.
