The Central Trade Unions have called for an indefinite transport strike in West Bengal on Friday to protest against the state government's disinclination to solve the problems of private transporters.

Private buses, mini-buses and auto-rickshaws have been brought under the strike.

Meanwhile, today is the second day of indefinite strike called by the taxi owners associations.

The people are facing difficulties as most of the taxies are off the roads.

Taxi owners have reportedly demanded minimum fare of 35 rupees from the present 25 rupees.
