UBI's 265 probationary officers of begin training at Amity

Amity Institute of Training and Development (AITD) started three week "Induction Programme" for 265 Probationary Officers (POs) of Union Bank of India at Amity Campus.

The objective of this Induction programme is to prepare young POs for effective contribution towards the growth of banking sector in the country. By the end of the programme, these trainees would be 'Branch Ready' to take on their responsibilities right away.

Under the programme, Trainers from Amity will teach various modules to the Probationary Officers that would include General Awareness on the "Systems and Achievements of the Banking Sector", the "Financial Products and Customer Relations Management". However, the main focus of the training would be the "Core Banking Solution (CBS)".

Addressing the young POs, K.S. Bains (a retired IAS officer and a Padma Shree Awardee) Advisor, AITD motivated them to take thorough interest in their profession in order to scale the heights and be successful. He urged them to learn to do their jobs properly; otherwise they would not be able to do justification to their jobs.

He stressed that it is right time for POs to learn since the basics of the Banking will be taught to them during the 3 week training, which will be useful throughout their lives. Mr. Bains shared that every Branch is the face of Bank and every employee should carry and pass on the honor and competence that a bank stands for.

He advised them to never forget that they are in Bank because of their customers and not the other way round.

Sharing his motivational and encouraging words, Arun Tiwari stressed that human beings write their own destinies and assured that each and every PO, with their grit and determination, has the ability to reach the top, provided he/she does not let his hesitant self come in.

He stressed that Bank Jobs are accorded a special respect in the society and it gives an opportunity to the employees to always remain in touch with the society and derive a unique sense of satisfaction by serving the customers.

Mr. Tiwari shared that 63 percent of financial assets globally is banking and within banking, 90 percent is controlled by Commercial banks. Economy cannot be revived without robust Banking industry. He opined that Banking is a pure symphony and called upon the young POs to enjoy it, which is possible only when POs know the product offering of their Bank and deliver them at a pace quicker than expected by the customers.

He stressed that the Training Programme will help them to hit the ground running right from the first day of their joining.

Sharing her views, one of the POs from West Bengal, Ms. Sushmita Mondal appreciated the quality of training being imparted to the POs. She stressed that the modules of the training Programme have been meticulously designed to incorporate all the essential elements of technical knowhow and soft skills, which will ease their assimilation into the respective Branches.

Mr. Kunal Kishore -another PO from Ranchi, Jharkhand who was very impressed with the encouraging words of Mr. Tiwari, applauded the infrastructure and facilities at Amity University, which, he stressed, are making the training programme interesting and interactive.

He shared that the trainers of Amity made the basics very easy for them to comprehend and expressed his hope that by the end of the training programme, he would be better equipped to discharge his responsibilities in a Bank Branch.
