The Jammu and Kashmir state assembly today witnessed mayhem as the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) demanded proper rehabilitation for residents fleeing from the border areas.
Border areas of the state have been exposed to repeated shelling over the past few days.
Harsh Dev Singh of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party said, "There is continuous shelling of bullets and mortars from across the border. This is causing immense harm to the people who live here and now they are fleeing their homes."
He further added, "But the government is not doing anything to rehabilitate these people. They are living in pathetic conditions as they do not have access to medicine or ration".
Pakistani troops fired on 40 border outposts (BoPs) and 24 villages along the International Border in Jammu and Samba districts, leaving three people injured.
According to reports, there have been 33 ceasefire violations since July 16.
