AC Milan have formally announced the appointment of Vincenzo Montella as their new coach for the next two years.
The 42-year-old, who led Sampdoria to a 15th-placed finish in Serie A last season, will succeed interim boss Cristian Brocchi at the helm of the Italian club.
"Vincenzo Montella is our new coach, he has signed a new contract which begins on July 1," the club was quoted as saying by goal.com.
AC Milan said they hope that the style of play of the former Sampdoria boss would be fruitful for the club.
"It is the belief of the club that the style of play of the new Rossoneri coach with be the base of a fruitful and positive collaboration," he added.
The side, however, thanked Brocchi for his enthusiasm and the work he has put in with the young team.
