Convicted war criminal Delawar Hossain Sayedee has filed a review petition against the Supreme Court verdict that pronounced jail until death for him in connection with the war crimes.
According to the Daily Star, Sayedee in his nine-page petition mentioned 16 grounds so that Supreme Court considers his prayer for acquittal, the convict's son Masud Sayedee told reporters.
The government had earlier on Tuesday filed another review petition seeking death penalty for him.
On the following day, Sayedee decided to file the review plea of the verdict that commuted his death penalty to jail unto death.
The International Crimes Tribunal-1 had on February 28, 2014, sentenced Sayedee to death for killing Ibrahim Kutti and one Bisa Bali in 1971.
