At least two people were killed and 15 others injured in a suicide bombing at a guest house belonging to provincial council member Obaidullah Shinwari in Jalalabad, Nangarhar, on Sunday morning.
According to Tolo News, officials have said that one of the injured is Shinwari's father Malek Osman, who is also a tribal elder.
According to the provincial governor's spokesman Attaullah Khoghyani, two people died and at least 15 were injured when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives inside the guest house.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and all injured have been taken to hospital.
