Will Smith will not be reprising his role in the sequel of the action film 'Independence Day.'
According to Director Roland Emmerich, the actor is too expensive.
Emmerich has confirmed to the New York Daily News that the second installment of the 1996 movie, which skyrocketed the Hollywood star's career, will not have Smith.
Emmerich asserted that half of the people are from the original film and the other half are new.
'Independence Day 2' is set for a July 3, 2015 release.
