Star all-rounder Harmanpreet Kaur has assured the Indian fans that the team would continue to perform in the same way as they did in the recently concluded ICC Women's World Cup and will win the prestigious quadrennial global tournament in 2021, slated to be held in New Zealand.

"The way our team is performing is very good. We have been waiting for this moment since long and I think the way our team is performing at the moment, whosover leads us in the 2021 World Cup, I just wish our team perform in the same way that we did in this World Cup and win the cup. We will try not to fall short of the target," said Harmanpreet, the Indian vice-captain on Wednesday.

The Indian middle-order batter, who showed master class in the semifinal against Australia, by smashing 171 runs, expressed her satisfaction in playing long innings and said, "I have played domestic and international cricket but had never played long innings. I loved it that I played well in times of need."

Harmanpreet, the Indian vice-captain, smashed a career-best 171 off 115 balls in the semifinal, leaving the Australian bowlers in a daze and helping India post an imposing total of 281/4 in a match reduced to 42 overs a side. The innings was even termed as the best ever played by an Indian woman in the limited-overs cricket.

The Indian team got a rousing reception upon their arrival at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport earlier Wednesday morning following their memorable campaign in the prestigious 50-over tournament in England.

The Women in Blue performed exceedingly well throughout the tournament before ending up as runner-ups by going down by nine runs at the hands of England in the summit showdown at Lord's on July 23.
