Williams retains No. 1 spot in latest WTA rankings

American tennis ace Serena Williams has retained the top spot in the women's tennis rankings in an unchanged top 10 released on Monday by the WTA Tour.

Williams tops the leaderboard with 9,231 points to stay clear of China's Li Na on 6,960 and Romania's Simona Halep on 6,960, Sport24 reported.

Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova is fourth while five-time Grand Slam winner Maria Sharapova is sixth in the WTA top 10.
