Indian tennis star Leander Paes and his Polish partner Marcin Matkowski cruised into the second round of the men's doubles event at Wimbledon.
The Indo-Polish pair recorded a comfortable 6-1, 6-3 win over Taipei's Lu Yen-hsun and Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic in a rain-hit opening round contest that lasted 42 minutes at the All-England Club.
Paes and Matkowski will next face either Henri Kontinen-John Peers or Nicholas Monroe-Donald Young for a spot in the third round.
On the other hand, India's Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian men's doubles partner Florin Mergea also progressed through to the second round with a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6 (6) win over Croatian pair of Marin Draganja and Nikola Mektic in the opening round.
