Nico Rosberg has emerged as the fastest driver in both practice sessions for the weekend's Austrian Grand Prix.

Having clocked the fastest time in the dry morning session, the German racer continued his rampaging form in the rain-hit second session where he finished .019 seconds ahead of reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton, Sport24 reported.

Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel finished fourth in the second practice session behind Force India's Nico Hulkenberg, while Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo was fifth.

Rosberg currently holds a 24-point lead over Hamilton in the world championship table after winning five races of the season.
