At the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, Audi India has unveiled the range topping sportier version of the Q5 SUV, called the SQ5. The SQ5 adds to the highly successful Q5 model lineup, which is one of the best selling models for Audi. It is expected that the company will launch the vehicle by the festive season.
The Audi SQ5 has a classy aluminum roof rails and a sloppy roof. It also feature a standard 20-inch wheels and an additional 21-inch wheels. To offer a sporty stance, it gets all the signature elements of Audi S models such as front and rear bumpers with platinum gray grille and diffuser, aluminum exterior mirror housings and quad exhaust tips. The front facade gets the Audi Xenon plus headlights with automatic self-leveling and LED daytime running lights.
Inside the cabin, the Audi SQ5 sports a three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel with alu-optic shift paddles and contrast stitching, gray instrument face with white needles, aluminum inserts on pedals, and leather/aluminum shift knob. The vehicle also comes equipped with several advanced technology and driver assistance features including Audi advanced key (keyless start, stop and entry), Audi side assist, adaptive cruise control and others. It also has an optional Bang & Olufsen sound system with 14 speakers, and standard i-pod integration and bluetooth compatibility.
The Audi SQ5 also feature the award-winning infotainment system Audi connect with MMI navigation plus. It offers Wi-Fi connectivity for passenger use, which enables the Audi connect system to connect up to eight wireless devices.
Considering the growing demand for oil burners in India, the company unveiled the diesel powered SQ5 in India. The 3.0-litre TDI engine mated to an 8-speed tiptronic transmission, churns out a maximum power output of 313bhp and 650Nm of top torque. Internationally, the Audi SQ5 is available in both petrol and diesel version- a 3.0-litre TFSI and a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel engine.
