2014 Skoda Superb Facelift launched

Czech automaker Skoda has introduced the updated version of its flagship sedan, Superb. The sedan has already been unveiled at the currently rolling 2014 Auto Expo. It received changes to both the front and rear, while the company has added several new features has been added. It has been priced at Rs. 18.87 lakh (ex-showroom- Delhi)

Speaking on the launch of the new Super, Mr. Sudhir Rao, Chairman & Managing Director, Skoda Auto India said, “The introduction of the redesigned Superb is part of our ongoing model offensive strategy. The refreshed Superb is even more appealing than its predecessor and retains the features and comforts that our customers have become accustomed to. Our renewed focus towards customers will further add to the overall ownership experience with the brand”.

The Superb now gets Skoda’s new family look. The front fascia of the saloon sports new butterfly grille, redesigned bumper and new bonnet. Octavia-like bumper, new headlamps with integrated daytime running LED’s further enhances the overall appeal of the sedan. The top-of the line model features power washers. The rear profile of the saloon features new tail-lamps with LEDs and the licensing plate is now positioned on the boot-lid instead of bumper. It also gets the new set of alloys.

Inside the cabin, the updated saloon sports a push button start and a new three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel. Its larger wheelbase offers plenty of spaces for both front and rear passengers. The Superb offers an impressive luggage carrying capacity of 565 litres, which can be extended to 17,00 litre by folding the rear seats. It comes equipped with features such as Adaptive Front Light System to offer best possible visual conditions when driving in the dark, Hill Hold Control, eight airbags, three-point safety belts and height-adjustable headrests.

The Skoda Superb carries the same engine configuration- a 1.8-litre TSI petrol and the 2.0-litre TDI diesel. While the petrol mill churns out a max power output of 158bhp, the oil burner produces 138bhp.
